Information for Teachers & Schools

The following programs were available for teachers and students in 2008:


1. The Performing Arts Touring program offered students and teachers in regional areas the opportunity to access quality professional performing arts productions at no cost. The Sydney Theatre Company and Opera Australia both toured productions to schools in the Riverina region of between April and September.


2. A Residential Arts Camp took place in at the Flying Fruit Fly Circus, Albury, in March 2008. The camp focused on circus skills and was open to Indigenous high-school students in the Riverina area.


3. Dance, drama, music and visual arts teachers were invited to take part in a four week Arts Industry Work Placement in one of four leading NSW arts organisations.


4. The School Workshop & Outreach Programs featured in-school workshops by renowned performers and educators. Professional development workshops for teachers were also incorporated into the program.

Information for Artists & Arts Organisations

Information for Artists & Arts Organisations

The following programs were available for artists and arts organisations in 2008:


1. The Access Grants program offered professional arts venues and organisations the opportunity to apply for grants to enable ticket and travel subsidies to be provided to disadvantaged school groups to attend their performances and exhibitions.


2. The Resource Grants program offered professional arts organisations the opportunity to launch or further develop their education programs through the provision of small grants to assist in the development of education materials relating to their arts product.


In addition, artists and arts organisations were invited to express their interest in participating in ConnectEd Arts programs designed specifically for the school sector by contacting one of our staff.
